Kürtősh, Sydney

This was a complete stumble-upon moment. We were walking back up Crown Street when we caught eye of some beautiful cakes. Intrigued, we decided to walked into Kürtősh. We were surprised that we hadn’t come across chimney cakes before, they looked beautiful and tasted delicious from what we sampled. Chimney cakes, are traditional Hungarian pastries and are often sold by street vendors in Hungary. You can choose to coat the Kürtősh in either Cinnamon, Coconut, Chocolate (Nutella), Pistachio, Hazelnut or Almond.

What I also love about this place is the option to buy cakes by weight. More often than not, I prefer to try many flavours than just have one big massive slice – thank you Kürtősh! We tried the Baked Cheesecake, Cinnamon & Walnut Tea Cake, Almond & Pear cake and the Blondie (sample). The Kürtősh house is a little bit rustic yet cozy and comfortable; not to mention, smells delicious. Will be going back to devour a chimney cake soon!
