My cousin and I attended the 2014 Good Food and Wine Show on the weekend and to put it simply, we were in heaven! An incredible variety of food and wine were available to try and purchase, along with celebrity chef appearances and live shows.
We tried everything from chilli to coffee, cheese to cookies, our tastebuds getting a massive workout. At the Grazing Garden, we indulged in a Pork Belly Bun from the Tsuru food truck which was one of the highlights of the day.
Our love for Zumbarons had us meet Adriano Zumbo, who also signed our books – yay!
The most exciting event of the day was having lunch at the Lifestyle Food Chef’s Table. We enjoyed a three course tasting by Bill Granger, while he did a live demonstration. After the demonstration, he came over and spoke to us, also posing to take photos. He was so lovely!
Bill Granger Chef’s Table Menu
Entree: Spinach and mascarpone tart
Main: Chicken cooked with green olives, pine nuts and garlic with Cauliflower and Fennel Salad Dessert: Baked Ricotta Cheesecake
In the afternoon, we participated in a Barilla cooking class run by chef, Luca Cuciano. This was fun, we cooked our own pasta and sauce with fresh vegetables and got to take home a fancy Barilla apron.
We brought home a trolley full of goodies and more. Our favourite purchases being Coconut Chips (Essence), Spiced Pear Paste (Fuchs) and Époisses de Bourgogne (from Smelly Cheese Shop). Overall it was a delicious day and I am keen as a bean for the Good Food and Wine Show 2015!
