One of my favourite places to visit in Sydney is The Winery. Sydney’s only wine laneway, The Winery is located in Surry Hills along renowned Crown Street. Quirky and playful, The Winery is a great place for both special occasions and casual gatherings offering an all-day menu.
There are plenty of options when it comes to food and drinks. Tying in with the playful theme, The Winery offer special menus for certain days of the week. In celebration of a birthday, my friends and I booked the Girls Picnic which is offered only on the weekends between 12noon and 3pm.
Situated upstairs, we were seated among lavish armchairs and quirky vintage finds which were thrown together with an eccentric colour palette. It was absolutely fabulous. Our table was covered in a black and white polka dot table cloth which accentuated the colour of the individual single-stem red roses by our menus.
Firstly we were served a jug of refreshing minted lemonade which was incredibly delicious! This was followed by chilled sparkling wine to which we toasted on the occasion. Presented on a 3-Tier stand, the selection of food was divine. The top tier offered Zucchini and Asparagus Quiches and petite Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Bagels. The middle tier had a delectable mix of sweet treats including Cupcakes and Double Chocolate Brownies. Last but not least, the bottom tier was a presented as tasty Cheese Plate with Quince Jam, Prosciutto and Dried Fruits. The stand was also accompanied by a Beetroot, Orange and Fennel Salad garnished with Candied Hazelnuts and Blue Vein and a selection of fresh bread.
The cost is $45 per person and bookings are required 24hours in advance. The Winery is an amazing place to come play with friends.
